As you have probably read, on April 20th, the US Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, sometimes affectionately known as “the Ninth Circus,” because of its frequent liberal opinions, ruled that the Second Amendment is incorporated against state and local governments. Many smart people have weighed in on the meaning of this decision and whether it is likely to be appealed to the Supreme Court.

An Internet search of ”Ninth Circuit Court,”" Nordyke,” and “ Second Amendment,” will give you a great sample of blogs and organizational websites concerned with the debate over the fundamental right of American Citizens to armed self-defense against crime, tyranny, and genocide. What is missing from this picture?

Out of thirty pages of Internet search results, I could find one mention of the decision by a newspaper or TV source. The Seattle Post Intelligencer ran the Second Amendment Foundation’s press release. Where in the name of cowardly chicken feathers were the rest of the Mainstream Media on this story?

There was actually something here that they would have liked to report: the court ruled in favor of Alameda County, California, in banning gun shows on county property. This decision is in keeping with some legal scholars’ opinions that Heller will not be enough to prevent massive government infringement of the rights recognized by the Second Amendment. (More on this issue later.)

My immediate concern is the deafening silence of the national print and electronic media that are supposed to be the bulwarks of our informed discussion on critical issues. It has become blatantly obvious to anyone who observed the lack of reporting or biased reporting of the “Tea Party” demonstrations that the Mainstream Media is more than ever determined to ignore or marginalize any occurrence that does not further the Socialist Agenda of the hard left radicals who have taken over the Universities, the “Old Media,” and the Democrat Party.

There has been a well-known, long-term Liberal bias in newspapers, television and magazine reporting. (See my posts under the Category: “Media Bias.”) The extent to which the Old Media now grovel at the feet of “The Chosen One” in the White House is truly beyond belief.

In any discussion with people who get their news from most newspapers, magazines, or TV outlets, the first painful thing you might want to tell them is, “You have been stonewalled and deceived.” This is a hard position to come from, because it runs into “cognitive dissonance” issues. People don’t want to believe that they have been deceived by their trusted sources of information, because this calls into question their personal intelligence and judgement.

Not only do they not want to admit to past mistakes, an admission of questionable judgement means that they will be afraid to rely on their own cognitive abilities in the future. A scary prospect, indeed! Most people won’t make the jump, but will seek refuge in defense mechanisms, such as denial, displacement, projection, reaction formation, etc. (See my post entitled, “Displacement as a defense mechanism in the irrational fear of guns,” 08-17-08, under the Category: “psychology.”)

Numerous sources have documented that some ordinary German Citizens stated after the war that Adolf Hitler received “bad advice” or was “misunderstood.” This, after the bloody socialist dictator had engineered the destruction of his country and perpetrated the Holocaust. Read Mayer’s They Thought They Were Free, excerpt here, to get a better understanding of how honest people became involved in socialist discrimination and genocide in Nazi Germany.

It is much harder, but probably a better tactic to ask liberals questions about their beliefs and try to identify areas that they are less sure about in their own minds. Be patient. It is highly unlikely that you will “convert” someone during a single discussion. Remember that they have a lifetime of conditioning and what I believe to be misinformation behind their belief systems. When you directly attack their belief systems, you are attacking them.

You might try the following exercise with a liberal who will actually talk to you, instead of screaming ”bigot” or ”gun nut.” Ask them to think about the right-wing politician that they hate the most. Give them a minute to really feel their self-righteous anger. Ask them to imagine the object of their animus as President of the US. Then ask them the question, “Do you really want to ban guns in civilian hands and give that person a total monopoly on the use of armed force in our country?”

You may then be able to talk about the dangers inherent in gun registration and how the Nazis used lists of previously registered firearms to disarm their political enemies, before exterminating them. You might be able to plant a seed of doubt that could grow into a political awakening

Read the book by Horowitz and Poe, The Shadow Party, (here and here) to find out how left-wing moneyed interests set up an interlocking network of non-profits and foundations to elect Hillary Clinton to the Presidency. Enter Obama. Hillary out. Obama in. Find out how he inherited a “turn-key” political operation that propelled him from obscurity to the White House.

What do we do? How do we keep from becoming the “little men” described by Mayer, who were swept along in a destructive national socialist movement? Do just one thing a day to promote freedom!

Promote the “New Media” to your friends and neighbors. Fight the “Fairness Doctrine” and other Liberal schemes to limit free speech, such as the “Card Check” scam to end secret ballots in union elections. Join pro-Second Amendment organizations. Check New Media sources on a daily basis. (You don’t have to worry about not getting the left-wing side of the news. It’s almost impossible to escape it.) Get politically active. Join a major party. Become a block worker or precinct leader. Contact your state and federal elected representatives on issues related to freedom. Write letters to editors. Donate, campaign, and stay involved. Support electable candidates. Support the Second Amendment as though your life depended on it. You know, it very well might.

Face the State ran a story here about positions some Colorado Congresspeople have taken or not taken about the use of secret ballots in Union Elections. In my opinion, the so-called “Workers’ Free Choice Act” is anything but free or about choice.

Imagine voting in a general election with someone looking over your shoulder to see how you vote! Imagine that person telling your friends and neighbors how you voted! Imagine that person having the power to subject you to intimidation and discrimination at your workplace! These are the “benefits” of the so-called “Free Choice Act.” This is the “Card Check” system that the union bosses want to use to take over American businesses and government agencies.

Why do I care? Union support helped put the most anti-individual gun rights administration in the history of the country into office. Now they want payback. Read The Shadow Partyby Horowitz and Poe to look at the coalition of top-down, billionaire-funded, interlocking, anti- gun organizations behind Obama. Check out discoverthenetworks.org. The site still doesn’t have a category for anti-Second Amendment organizations, but virtually all of the groups mentioned toe the Hard Left anti-gun rights line.

“Understand,” as “The Chosen One” is fond of saying. The Left Wing of the Democrat Party favors “Card Checks,” the “Fairness Doctrine,” “Localism,” Super Delegates, and any other means they can use to gain power for their movement to gain control of every aspect of your life. (See my posts under the Categories: “Elections,” Unions,” “Culture War,” and “Politics.”)

If we allow the unions to take away the right of the secret ballot in union elections, will we fight to keep the ballot secret in general elections?

To all the union members who own guns for collecting, hunting, target shooting, trap and skeet, and self-defense against crime and tyranny, vote your gun rights! To all the Libertarians and potential third party voters, vote for the most pro-gun rights candidate who has a chance to win! To all the intellectually pure gun owners who would rather lose their legal right to own a gun than to vote for John McCain, vote your gun rights in an intelligent way! To all the lazy Americans who value freedom, but who seldom get off their posteriors to defend it, at least vote your gun rights! To all veterans who left friends on foreign soil in the name of freedom, defend freedom here at home and vote your gun rights!

Don’t listen to Trojan Horse organizations like the American Hunters and Shooters Association. Their approach to “reasonable” gun control mirrors that of the Brady Campaign, which, by the way, endorsed Obama.

Obama has a long history of anti-gun votes and statements hostile to our basic right to self-defense recognized by the Second Amendment. The Liberal Elite backed by Globalist Billionaires believe that gun owners are, to paraphrase “The Chosen One,” bitter, clingy, religious, and xenophobic. The Liberals’ most sympathetic feeling for gun owners is a kind of patronizing pity tinged with revulsion. Keep in mind that their pity is not going to keep them from restricting, registering, and then confiscating your firearms. In Great Britain, the intellectual elite are rounding up knives with sharp points. (All you knife collectors take warning!)

Liberals think that people who own guns are stupid. People who own guns who vote for Liberals are in danger of proving the Liberals correct.

In my last post, I outlined the Democrat anti-gun laws that will burst like a flood of radioactive waste on the American landscape, if Barack “The Chosen One” Obama is elected President. We are approaching the last few hours when you can make a difference in this election. The absolute least you can do is vote, but that will not be enough.

Obama has an army of out-of-school college students, off-the-job union workers, “independently wealthy” welfare families, and Democrats who actually have jobs who will take time off to walk precincts, wave signs, drive Liberals to the polls, make phone calls, put up yard signs and do all the rest of the activities known as the “Ground Game” in politics. The GOP has people who work for a living and some retired people who care enough about this country to become politically involved. And, we have you.

Please call your nearest Republican Party Headquarters and ask them what you can do to defend America from the impending Socialist onslaught. If you want to legally own a firearm for plinking, target shooting, hunting, or self-defense: help the GOP.

If you don’t care about firearms and individual freedom, think about the following. If you don’t want the government regulating your home thermostat: help the GOP. If you don’t want $5.00 per gallon gasoline; if you don’t want Young Pioneers or Red Guards going through your trash to be sure you have properly recycled: help the GOP.

Often overlooked in this debate is Obama’s plan to cut and run in Iraq. Will the 2.5 million Asians killed as the result of Democrat bungling in Vietnam be surpassed by a bloodbath in Iraq and Afghanistan? What will happen in the U.S., when the terrorists are freed from their Jihadist obligations in the Middle East? If you want to help save lives, help the GOP.

If you believe that secret ballots are essential to fair union elections: help the GOP. If you believe that Conservative talk radio provides a necessary balance to the Liberal spin of the Mainstream Media: help the GOP. If you don’t want the government to take money you have worked for and “redistribute” it to those who don’t or won’t work, you guessed it. Help the GOP. (If you believe Obama won’t tax you, I have a really great deal on a bridge in Brooklyn that I want to talk to you about. I believe Obama on taxes like I believe him when he says he supports the Second Amendment. Here’s what the NRA says.)

The Democrat plan is to make the American Middle Class dependent on government handouts in the same way that past Democrat social programs have turned people in America’s lowest economic classes into serfs who are dependent on the government dole.

Once a Socialist administration conditions all our working citizens to pay tremendous taxes for government handouts, the game is over. You will create value for the economy. The government will take your money. They will rake a little off the top for the bureaucrats; rake a little more off the top for “deserving” non-profits, like ACORN; rake a little off the top for “worthwhile” propaganda outlets, like PBS and NPR; rake more off the top to pay their army of people already dependent on the public dole; and eventually, the beneficent, all-powerful Socialist Utopian State will give you back a fraction of your money in the form of “benefits.”

Their model is Europe, which has much higher unemployment than this country, and which has a system of economic stratification that is much different than the American system. Our traditional system allows people with talent and drive to be upwardly mobile. Unless you are a rock star, your chances of going “from rags to riches” in Europe are slim. Did you ever wonder why, in Europe’s ”sophisticated,” egalitarian Socialist system, rich people still go to Monte Carlo and Baden Baden? Rich people still drive their Mercedes and their BMW’s, while the lower classes, “The Great Unwashed” take public transportation and eat relatively inexpensive bowls of soup in railroad stations.

Do you wonder why the Germans, who have socialized medicine, go to private clinics at night and pay to get health care? As I documented in an earlier post under the Category “Foreign Gun Laws,” the British Olympic Pistol Team trains in Switzerland. Why? British gun ”regulations” prohibit handguns on British soil. Watch the Olympic Games in England, where they will likely bring pistols to shooting events in armored cars. That’s “reasonable” gun control.

If you don’t want your country transformed into a European-style Socialist playground for the wealthy and a social and economic prison for the Middle Class, help the GOP! And remember, the British Olympic Pistol Team trains in Switzerland.

“Big Brother” wants to love you. Don’t give him the chance. Work for a GOP victory!

Libertarian Candidate Bob Barr was in Denver on 10-17-08. Barr drew about 50 supporters to D.U. John McCain was in Denver a week later. McCain spoke to a much, much larger crowd, despite the inevitable undercounting of the Liberal Press. I like Bob Barr a lot for his stand on the Second Amendment. I disagree with his statement that “…nothing will change…” under the Democrats or Republicans.

If Barack Obama is elected, I believe he will try to impose his vision of the Second Amendment on this country. His vision includes support for the continuing D.C. semi-auto ban and requirement that all guns be unloaded and disassembled until someone breaks into your home. His vision of the Second Amendment includes Chicago’s handgun ban. Obama sat on the Board of Directors of the Joyce Foundation, one of the most virulent anti-Second Amendment groups in the country. The Brady Campaign, another group that opposes the fundamental individual right to self-defense against crime and tyranny, has endorsed Obama.

Obama’s vision includes suppression of free speech and one appropriate opinion, his! (See previous posts about Obama’s attempts to silence the NRA and others who disagree with him.)

Obama wants to create “volunteer” youth organizations “trained” by Democrat cadres to clean up the environment and make sure your recyclables are in the right container. How many of these “trainees” will ever be exposed to anything but Left-wing propaganda? Obama wants to suppress secret ballots in union elections and create huge public and private armies of union blockworkers in future elections.

Obama claims to be non-supportive of the “Fairness Doctrine” that would kill Conservative Talk Radio, but his actions speak louder than his words. Obama wants citizenship for illegal aliens. How many illegals will vote in the next election? How many will vote in this one? How many dead voters can Chicago Machine Politics get to the polls with the help of Obama’s friends in ACORN?

John McCain is not my favorite Republican, but Second Amendment advocates have some ability to influence him. Defenders of the fundamental invidual right to self-defense against crime and tyranny are no part of Barack Obama’s natural constitutency.

I believe Obama, his Far-Left Base, and billionaire supporters like George Saros, who are bankrolling his rise to power, will slam the door behind them, if they succeed in capturing the Oval Office.

Obama’s convention in Denver looked too much like a night scene from The Triumph of the Will to suit me. I don’t want to vanish into “night and fog.” If you are considering a third party vote, watch the movie, Cabaret. Pay particular attention to the scene where the handsome young man sings “The future belongs to me.”

Think about it! Do you want the most radical Left-Wing candidate in the history of the country controlling the FBI, the CIA, the BATFE, and all the other alphabet agencies that have the potential to monitor your every move and arrest or kill you, if you violate the dicatates of “The Chosen One?”

I have been accused of “fear-mongering.” I believe that if you are not afraid of Obama and his anti-democratic tendencies, you need to expand your sources of information, before it is too late.

Vote Republican, or lose your First and Second Amendment rights!

(Note to Tiffany re: comment on “More McCain yard signs down.” (Category: “Elections.”) I appreciate your empathy on the yard sign thefts. I am less comfortable with your description of John McCain as a “disgusting old man.” First, a general comment of my own about yard sign theft and other political crimes…

Oops! Lost another Bob Schaffer sign Sunday night. Schaffer is running against Boulder, Colorado Liberal Mark Udall. That makes three stolen Schaffer signs! I have two extras in the garage. I’ll head down to Schaffer’s Headquarters and pick up a few more. Can’t have too many Schaffer signs. (Saw a fox by the sign location last night. Maybe he or she took it.)

I believe that this Democrat yard sign theft of epidemic proportions is merely a symptom of a larger problem within the Party. David Horowitz, a former Communist and leader of the Anti-Vietnam War Movement, said of the Left, ”If you believe in a future that will redeem mankind, what lie will you not tell, what crime will you not commit to make the future happen?” This “Progressive” ideological hubris, this absolute certainly of moral superiority, this crusader mentality, this attempt to live out and exploit what Horowitz has called “the romance of the underdog,” are factors that I believe drive people of the Left to steal yard signs and attempt to steal elections. (Horowitz, David, Left Illusions, Spence Publishing Company, Dallas, TX, 2003, pages 356-360, 366.) Back to McCain and the Presidential Race!

John McCain was continually tortured for a year and a half in North Vietnam, because he would not accept an early release from his captors, while his fellow POWs remained in Communist hands. That makes him an American Hero by any standards. John McCain sounded the alarm on the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac Crisis in 2005, while the Democrat Party defended the bad lending practices that ultimately drove both organizations into the ground.

I don’t agree with McCain on every policy, but his experience and fortitude in the struggle against Islamofascist Terror and his relatively strong support of the Second Amendment make him my choice. It is foolish for us to allow transient economic problems to obscure the fact that we are in a struggle to the death with a violent terrorist element that wishes and plans for our destruction. (I’m not talking about the Left-Wing of the Democrat Party.)

Sarah Palin is the Governor of Alaska. She has more executive experience than the whole Obama/Biden ticket. She cut government expenses in Alaska. I think she believes “jobs” is a four-letter word. Obama’s choice for VP seems to think that ”jobs” has only three letters. Unlike some of the terms you used in your comment, Tiffany, ”jobs” is a four letter word with a good connotation.

Barack H. Obama is the junior senator from Illinois. He is the least experienced presidential candidate for at least a generation. He comes out of what is arguably the most corrupt Democrat political machine in the country. He has blatantly misrepresented his position on the Second Amendment and tried to suppress the First Amendment rights of people who disagree with him. He wants to end the use of secret ballots in union elections. Quite frankly, his anti-democratic tendencies scare me.

Obama has continually associated with Communists, including: Frank Davis in Hawaii. and William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn in Chicago. He has continuously been involved with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now(ACORN), which is at least in part responsible for the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac Crisis, and which has a long-time record of voter fraud.

Obama, with only four years in the Senate, has taken more money from Fannie and Freddie than long-time Senator Ted Kennedy. Only Senator Dodd got more contributions for his support of Fan and Fred’s failed practices than your candidate, Tiffany.

Obama wants to raise taxes for everybody who pays taxes, not just the wealthy. If he gets elected and repeals the Bush tax cuts, everybody’s taxes go up. If he taxes corporations at a higher rate, the companies will simply raise their prices, passing on the expense to people who use their goods and services. You and me! Obama wants to increase taxes on retirement accounts (capital gains tax.) If you plan to save any money and to retire some day, Obama plans to tax you!

Another bad thing that will happen, if Senator Obama is elected President, is that some companies will move overseas to other countries where wages and taxes are lower. That will mean fewer jobs in the United States. Obama’s tax plans would be like pouring gasoline on a house fire.

Obama wants to give drivers’ licenses to illegal aliens. Why? I don’t know. Wait! Here’s an idea! The issuance of licenses to illegals increases opportunities for voter fraud. ACORN comes to mind again.

Finally, I believe Obama is wrong on the War on Terror. In 1975, when the American Left forced the abandonment of Southeast Asia to the Communists, about two and a half million people were murdered. The North Vietnamese Army, the Khmer Rouge, the Pathet Lao, and the Red Chinese and Soviets who supported them didn’t follow us home. If we abandon the Middle East to radical terrorists, who have already killed about 3,000 U.S. Citizens in attacks on New York and Washington, D.C., not only will untold thousands more die outside this country; we will face the prospect of chemical and nuclear attacks in our own cities.

In an incident that received little attention in the Mainstream Media, because it didn’t fit the party-line “narrative” of the Left in the War on Terror, Islamofascist operatives tried to launch a chemical attack on Amman, Jordan. The attack, which could have killed thousands, was thwarted. Some of the would-be perpetrators confessed to being trained and supervised by Abu Mus’ab al-Zarqawi, an al Qaida terrorist with ties to Iraq.

Former Iraqi Air Force General Georges Sada said he believes that the chemicals for the weapons in the planned bombing were sent from Saddam Hussein in Iraq to Syria, during the months before the U.S.-led invasion in 2003. General Sada is the author of the book, Saddam’s Secrets, published by Thomas Nelson, 2006.

Junior Senator Obama opposed and opposes the War on Terror. I believe he is incredibly naive, which is not surprising, given his complete lack of foreign policy experience. As Hillary Rodham Clinton astutely said, the Oval Office is not a place where we can afford to train on the job.

Tiffany, I don’t have time to comment in detail on your “use” of the English Language, but please lose the profanity and proofread your comments, before you send them. Everyone makes errors, but punctuation and capitalization are our friends. We shouldn’t abuse them.

The Mainstream Media(MSM), ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, PBS, NPR, Time, Newsweek, The New York Times, The LA Times, The Denver Post, The Washington Post, etc., continue to coddle Obama and attack the GOP. They take the Obama Campaign at its word and fail to follow up on its most blatant misrepresentations. Let me know if you have heard a peep out of the MSM about the following issues.

Obama’s real record on gun control? Just this week, BHO garnered the endorsement of the anti-gun Brady Campaign. Oh yeah. They are “opponents of gun violence.” This, while Obama runs ads saying that he supports the Second Amendment. Here’s what the NRA says about his “support.”

Obama and ACORN? News organizations that are turning Alaska upside down. rock by rock, can’t seem to find a connection between the community organizing Junior Senator from Chicago and the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. Click here for the sanitized version. Click here for what I believe is really going on.

Obama’s attacks on the First Amendment rights of citizens who disagree with him? Click here for Obama campaign’s attacks on the NRA and radio and TV stations in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Click here for the “truth squad” in Missouri that was decried by the Governor of that state for “police state tactics.”

Arthur Hays Sulzberger said in 1948, “Obviously, a man’s judgment cannot be better that the information on whch he has based it. Give him the truth and he may still go wrong when he has the chance to be right, but give him no news or present him only with distorted and incomplete data, with ignorant, sloppy or biased reporting, with propaganda, and deliberate falsehoods, and you destroy his whole reasoning processes, and make him something less than a man.”
(Bartlett, John, Bartlett’s Familiar Quotations, Fourteenth Edition, Little, Brown and Company, Boston, Mass., 1968, page 1020 a.)

If you are getting all your information from the MSM, man or woman, you are not getting the whole story on Barack Obama or on the struggle between republican democracy and socialism that is dividing our country. If you care about the First and Second Amendments and the rest of the Constitution, I would encourage you to expand your sources beyond the evening news and the news stands. Talk radio, Fox News, and websites like Newsmax, Free Republic, Front Page Magazine, and the Volokh Conspiracy are vitally necessary to a balanced perspective. The Democrats are threatening to destroy this tenuous balance with the “Fairness Doctrine,” and other restrictions on our Constitutionally recognized rights to freedom of speech and self-defense. (Banning secret ballots in union elections comes to mind.)

Inform yourself or get used to living in a Brave New World where “War is Peace,” “Freedom is Slavery,” “Some animals are more equal than others,” and some people will still believe that “It Can’t Happen Here.” If you’re not familiar with those titles and quotations, wake up! It could happen here. Imagine huge “volunteer” youth organizations “trained” by Left-wing Democrat Community Organizers. The Young Pioneers or the Red Guards come to mind.

Comments continue to come in regarding my recent post on vandalism directed against Republican yard signs. Two people in the South Denver Metro Area said to my wife and me on Saturday that their McCain yard signs had been slashed. Yesterday, I picked up a yard sign for a GOP state senate candidate that had been tossed into the street, along with a non-political Boy Scout sign that was apparently collateral damage associated with Left-wing, Nazi-like tactics.

More importantly, the Obama campaign has shown its true intolerance for diverse opinion and free speech by threatening to sue radio and TV stations in Pennsylvania that run NRA ads exposing his dismal record regarding the fundamental, individual right of American citizens to self-defense against crime and tyranny. The Messianic candidate of post-partisan “Unity” has also directed his followers to contact the stations to demand that the free speech rights of NRA members be suppressed.

According to the story as reported by Newsmax, a letter from Obama’s general counsel wrote that “…independent political organizations do not have a right to command the use of broadcast facilities…” Per the much touted “defenders of the common citizen,” only “federal candidates” have such rights. Somebody apparently has not been reading the Constitution.

The Obama Campaign letter calls the NRA ads “false, misleading, or deceptive.” The letter goes on to quote the left-wing Washington Post and the usually reliable FactCheck.org about the supposed inaccuracy of the ads. Unfortunately for Barack “Call me if you need me” Obama, Dave Kopel deconstructed the FactCheck entry by pointing out that the NRA talking points accurately reflect Obama’s public pronouncements and voting record. The NRA legal team stands behind the veracity of their allegations.

Obama claims to support the Second Amendment, but he has opposed concealed carry, supported the “assault weapons” ban, endorsed a handgun ban, supported the Washington D.C., gun ban, and voted to ban virtually almost all rifle ammunition, in addition to other “support.” “Freedom is Slavery. War is Peace. Big Brother is watching you.”

Obama’s party is the party of elite “Super Delegates.” He supports destroying the right of workers to vote by secret ballot in union elections. Obama advocates the “Fairness Doctrine” that would effectively destroy conservative talk radio, while leaving intact the Mainstream Liberal Media’s ability to present their version of the “News.” How long will it be before Obama and friends try to limit free speech on the Net? “Freedom is Slavery. War is Peace. Big Brother is watching you.” George Orwell could have been writing about Barack Hussein Obama.

If the Obama Campaign’s vandalism and open assault on the foundations of the Bill of Rights don’t outrage and terrify you, you are not only not paying attention, you are probably comatose. If Americans don’t wake up, we will have no political voice or legal ability to defend ourselves.

Vote Republican or kiss the First and Second Amendments goodbye.

You can tell that the political season is upon us. Yesterday in a brazen daylight act of vandalism, somebody stole a McCain yard sign from my front yard. I suspect a person or persons belonging to the Hard Core Left Wing of the Democrat Party.

Who benefits from this crime? That is the question of the moment. It could have been a Libertarian, but they favor free speech. It might have been a Republican who wanted a sign for his own yard. No. I suspect it most probably was someone from the party of hubris and silenced dissent. When someone steals a yard sign, he or she not only commits the crime of petty theft, they commit the much more serious crime of violating my First Amendment right to free expression.

(Speaking of hubris, did you see Charlie Gibson’s interview with Sarah Palin where he asked if it wasn’t hubris for her to seek the second highest office in the land? What a pompous, supercilious oaf Gibson appeared to be, looking over his glasses and down his nose at the Governor of Alaska. Considering that she has the same amount of foreign policy experience as Barack Hussein Obama and is one Irish kitchen table chat short of the experience of Hillary Rodham Clinton, I think Palin is as well qualified as either of those Democrat luminaries. She has more executive experience than the whole Dem Ticket.

What about “Say It Ain’t So, Joe” (Biden ) who questioned the judgement of his Presidential Candidate by hinting that Obama made the wrong choice for Vice President? How does Joe walk with both feet in his mouth? Now there’s a good subject for a scientific study. The Democrats can “invest” in a long-term research project on Biden’s ambulatory skills the next time they want to pork up an appropriations bill.)

But, I digress. I suspect Left Wing Dems of stealing my yard sign, because they have historically had a very low tolerance for freedom of expression that runs contrary to their party line. The Dems are the party of the “Fairness Doctrine” that would silence conservative talk radio, one of the two forms of electronic media that they do not yet control.

The Dems are the Party of “Super Delegates.” Super Ds are officials, operatives, and insiders given delegate status at conventions to make sure that those “common, ordinary” citizens, who the Libs pretend to represent, don’t do something of which the party elite might not approve. That’s inclusive and respectful of diversity. Not!

The Dems are also the party that wants to steal the right of secret balloting from workers in union elections. Why would they want to do that? Oh, I don’t know. Could it have something to do with increasing the opportunities for voter intimidation? “Sign the card now! You might forget to sign it later. I’ll stand right here while you do it No! I’m not intimidating you. That would be against the law. You don’t feel intimidated, do you? Do you? Good! Now, just sign the card right here on this line.”

Weren’t the Dems the ones who tried to suppress the votes of U.S. Service Members stationed overseas? I seem to remember something about that in 2,000.

Don’t get me started on voter fraud in Chicago! Remember the old joke about the female Democrat who wanted to be buried near the city, so that she could remain active in party politics?

There was also some tire slashing directed at GOP get-out-the vote vehicles. The Wisconsin Democrat perps were actually convicted.

Democrats are also overwhelmingly the party that seeks to deprive the American People of their fundamental right to self-defense from crime and tyranny. Check out almost any post on this site under the Second Amendment category. You will find the Democrats in nearly constant direct opposition to individual freedom.

The Dems are definitely among the usual suspects when it comes to suppressing free speech and individual liberty. They favor diversity, so long as it stays within the parameters of their Liberal talking points.

Oh, well. I’ve got lots of signs. I think I’ll get a video camera, so I can watch the thieves at work. I don’t suppose that they have stolen their last yard sign.

Better not be too hasty. It could be squirrels or raccoons. Might be coyotes. We’ve seen a few of those around here lately. Foxes? Skunks? Might be prairie dogs. The sign stakes could be blocking their burrows.

It’s possible that it’s not a Democrat or Democrats that stole my freedom of political expression, but as Henry David Thoreau said, “Some circumstantial evidence is very strong, as when you find a trout in the milk.”

Update! Please see subsequent posts on yard signs under the category “Elections.”

Nightrider in his comment urged emphasis on weightier matters than Obama’s pig in makeup. I agree that the candidate’s bad joke, gaffe, or whatever it was should not be the defining issue of the campaign. I disagree with Obama on gun control, taxes, the War on Islamofascist Terror, eliminating secret ballots in union elections, abortion, and just about any other topic you can name. I have many reasons not to vote for him.

On the other hand, words have meaning. I believe an habitual carelessness in the use of words implies a lack of judgement as significant as long-term associations with radical religious figures, questionable real estate brokers and terrorists.

One might argue that these associations are not significant, either; but there seems to be a growing body of evidence that strongly suggests that Obama lacks both the experience and the gravitas to be President of the United States. Of course, honest people can honestly disagree over the interpretation of any perceived factual information.

Vote Republican.
