If you are an NRA Voting Member, you received a ballot in the March Issue of whatever magazine you get from the association. There are two members of the current board from Colorado running for reelection. They are Robert K. Brown and Steven C. Schreiner.

I am going to encourage you to vote for both of these individuals. Colonel Brown’s bio is on page B of the 2009 Director Nominations. Mr. Schreiner’s bio is on page F.

Both of them are long-time stalwart defenders of the Second Amendment. I believe they have done more than any other persons in Colorado in the defense of the fundamental, individual right to armed self-defense against crime, tyranny, and genocide.

Your ballot will tell you to vote for no more than 26 candidates. If you vote only for Colonel Brown and Mr. Schreiner, you will give them a better chance to be elected.

It is vitally important that you vote in this election.

If you do not belong to the NRA, or other pro-individual rights organization, such as the Firearms Coalition of Colorado, you are risking your birthright of freedom as an American Citizen. See my Category: “Order of Battle.”

In keeping with the metaphor of war discussed in the last post, it is important to know on the battlefield of politics those who are your friends and and those who are your enemies. Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO) is one of the ideologically strongest advocates for American Citizens to retain what freedom we have and to regain our lost rights to armed self-defense from crime and tyranny.

For those who think that the National Rifle Association is a radical organization, JPFO makes the NRA look quite moderate indeed. JPFO is the orginator of the gun control/genocide chart that you see from time to time in E-mails. They also have produced an excellent comic book series, “Grandpa Jack,” that explains the origins and purposes of the Second Amendment. “Grandpa Jack” ably refutes the myths and specious arguments put forth by the other side in the debate over armed self-defense. JPFO has a variety of books, videos, and other items that support the individual right to keep and bear arms.

JPFO gives the lie to the old canard that all gun owners are anti-Semitic rednecks. The “J” stands for Jews! They are literally brothers in arms in the fight for individual freedom and dignity.

If you are a serious student of the debate over the fundamental, natural rights recognized by the Second Amendment, you owe it to yourself to check out JPFO. They are important allies in the struggle to keep America free and safe from crime, tyranny, and genocide.

(”Pro-Gun” Group Endorses Most Anti-Gun Candidate, Friday, April 18, 2008.)

Beware of any group or person that espouses the “legitimate sporting purpose” line with regard to the possession and use of firearms. They will tell you, “We/I support some guns for hunting, but nobody needs an ‘assault rifle’ or a handgun, or a magazine that holds over six rounds.” What every hunter needs to remember is that his or her extremely accurate, expensive hunting weapon with the billion-power scope is a “sniper rifle” to the anti-gun crowd. “The friend of the tyrant is merely his (or her) last victim.”

Full disclosure: I have been associated with the Firearms Coalition for over fifteen years.

This all-volunteer, Colorado grassroots organization is near and dear to my heart, because it is a regular at almost every major gun show along the Front Range, and is often present in other areas of the state. The Coalition distributes educational flyers to gun show patrons on urgent state and federal Second Amendment issues. During elections, the Coalition issues candidate ratings with regard to their positions on our natural right to defense of self and others from crime and tyranny.

The Firearms Coalition of Colorado was instumental in passing Colorado’s “shall issue” concealed carry law and statewide preemption of local anti-gun ordinances. The organization has received special recognition from the NRA and the Law Enforcement Alliance of America, a police association that supports the Second Amendment. The NRA designated the Firearms Coalition of Colorado its Grassroots Organization of the Year for its role in the passage of the above mentioned legislation.

The Coalition maintains a full-time lobbyist at the Colorado State Capitol during the Legislative Session, the only pro-Second Amendment group to do so. Working closely with the NRA Representative for Colorado and other pro-gun rights groups, the Firearms Coalition has successfully lobbied against numerous anti-gun bills. During the most recent session, the Coalition partnered with the NRA and other allies to stop Senate Bill 49, a “safe storage” bill that would have had a chilling effect on the immediate availability of firearms for self-defense.

The Firearms Coalition of Colorado maintains an Internet presence at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/COGunissues/ See my link on this page.

The Coalition also has a telephone hot line at 303-296-4867 (296-GUNS). This hot line is updated frequently with information of interest to the community of people who own guns. The Firearms Coalition can be reached by snail mail at:
PO Box 1454, Englewood, CO 80150-1454.

If you live in Colorado, or even if you live out of the state, I believe a $25 annual membership in the Firearms Coalition of Colorado is a good investment in freedom.

Using the “metaphor” that we are engaged in a “war” with the hard left over our natural right to self-defense against crime and tyranny, I am going to profile from time to time the organizations involved in this fight. This almost certainly has been done better elsewhere, but I am going to take literary license and add my idiosyncratic two cents to the discussion.

Order of battle is one of the most boring, yet most important functions of military intelligence. If you know nothing about the “enemy’s” table of organization and equipment, you are certainly going to be surprised when you meet him or her on the “battlefield.”

Ordinarily, the good guys don’t publish their own order of battle outside their own organization, because the less the “enemy” knows about you, the better. But in our “war,” many people on our side aren’t familiar with our friends and allies.

Also, in our “war,” the “enemy” has created a few “Trojan Horse” organizations that claim to represent “mainstream” gun owners. These “false flag” groups hew to the hard left party line. For those of you who belong to Gun Owners of America, this last statement does not refer to the National Rifle Association. GOA has a definite place at our table, although I obviously don’t concur with all of their ideas or tactics.

Although I don’t agree with every position taken by the NRA, they are the oldest, largest, most generally respected pro-gun rights organization in the world. Their affliate organizations, such as the Firearms Coalition of Colorado, and the Colorado State Shooting Association represent powerful lines of defense against left wing, anti-gun rights legislation. The Firearms Coalition has the only full-time lobbyist on gun issues at the State Capitol during the legislative session.

The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is an important gun rights organization. They sponsor an annual conference that calls together many of the best minds in the community of people who legally own firearms.

Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership is another ally in the fight for freedom. Their excellent comic book series, “Grampa Jack,” is a useful tool for both adults and young people in understanding the debate over our right to self-defense against crime and tyranny.

Among organizations on the other side, we will discuss the Brady Campaign, the Violence Policy Center, Move On, etc. I again encourage you to read The Shadow Party by Horowitz and Poe to find out about the oligarch-funded hard left network that threatens the survival of the free market American republic.

Possibly over-used, but appropriate to our allies in the “war” regardless of race, religion, or political stripe, an excerpt from the St. Crispin’s Day speech in Shakespeare’s Henry V. “We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; for he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile. This day shall gentle his condition; and gentlemen in England now-a-bed shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here, and hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks that fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s Day.” Today, we include in our order of battle our female compatriots, such as the Second Amendment Sisters.

Benjamin Franklin also clearly defined our issue, when he said of the Declaration of Independence, “We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.”
