State budget woes may benefit Colorado gun owners

Budget problems have Colorado Legislators looking for ways to save money. There has been talk of reducing funding for the Colorado Bureau of Investigation for background checks. Restored concealed carry bill on way to CO State Senate

Colorado Residents:
HB 09-1180 was restored to its original purpose in the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday, 03-16-09. This bill would allow Colorado Concealed Carry Permit Holders to use their permits in lieu of background checks when buying guns from dealers and at gun shows.

Background check wait time was 24 hours at Denver Area gun show

Citizens trying to purchase firearms at an Adams County gun show were disappointed Sunday afternoon, when the wait for a Colorado Bureau of Investigation background check went from six hours in the late morning to twenty-four hours at about two in the afternoon.
