Save the Secret Ballot in Union Elections!
March 26, 2009 | Leave a Comment
Face the State ran a story here about positions some Colorado Congresspeople have taken or not taken about the use of secret ballots in Union Elections. In my opinion, the so-called “Workers’ Free Choice Act” is anything but free or about choice.
Imagine voting in a general election with someone looking over your shoulder to see [...]

New computer-May have technical problems
March 22, 2009 | Leave a Comment
I will be working from a new computer for the next couple of weeks. Hopefully there will be minimal disruption. There is a lot going on: the tragedy of the Oakland police officer killings, the trial of the woman who “exercised” her husband to death in a swimming pool, and the trial of the man who [...]

Liberal Judge stops concealed carry in national parks
March 19, 2009 | 5 Comments
Well, it lasted longer than I predicted, and the Holder Justice Department defended the rule, but concealed carry permit holders are now barred by a preliminary injunction from carrying guns in national parks in accordance with the state law in which a park is located. Mainstream Media news reports on this topic almost always neglect [...]

Obama’s back door attack on the Second Amendment
March 18, 2009 | 1 Comment
Given President Obama’s record on guns and his appointment of anti-gun rights zealots to key positions, it should come as no surprise that his administration is moving by fiat and legislation to restrict the rights of American gun owners. Let’s start with picks and appointments.
Vice President-Biden-Proudly admitted that he helped create the first semi-automatic firearms ban.

Colorado Residents:

Soldier reports Army wants to register his private firearms
March 17, 2009 | 4 Comments
The following is not legal advice. Mr. Schreiner and I are former army officers and concerned citizens, not attorneys.
In an alert from Fort Campbell, Kentucky, a U.S. Army infantry soldier reported that he has been required to list by “make, model, caliber, and serial number” all the firearms that he possesses. This individual indicated that he lives [...]

Reports of military brass destruction could be bad news for reloaders and shooters
March 14, 2009 | Leave a Comment
A usually reliable source has reported today that that the U.S. Government, i.e., the Obama Administration, has decided to attack civilian gun ownership in the United States by “demilitarizing” all surplus empty cartridge cases, known as “brass,” before selling those cases on the civilian market. In plain English this means that the cartridge cases will be intentionally [...]

Look for more shootings after church killing and more calls for gun control
March 12, 2009 | Leave a Comment
You have seen the news stories about the church killing and the family murder rampage by the man in Alabama. This week, there was a spree killing in Germany. Those on the Left and others who believe that disarmed, helpless people are safer than armed people will no doubt again raise their voices and demand that we surrender our [...]

In committee action Friday at the Colorado State Capitol, Steve Schreiner of the Firearms Coalition of Colorado and representatives of hunting and fishing organizations succeeded in stalling an increase in search and rescue fees that was intended to raise revenues on the backs of Colorado hunters and fishers. The fight isn’t over yet, but Friday was a victory for [...]

Correction to “Violence in Mexico…”
March 3, 2009 | Leave a Comment
I misquoted Steve Schreiner of the Firearms Coaltion of CO about the display of Soviet Bloc weapons in the 60 Minutes segment on Mexican gang violence on Sunday night. His information on weapons from the former USSR and its allies came from previous television stories. Only U.S.-made military and civilian firearms were displayed in the 60 Minute piece. The [...]
