Colorado business protection bill dies. Arizona shopkeeper shoots robbers.
January 30, 2009 | Leave a Comment
The recent security camera footage out of Arizona punctuates the death of Colorado Senate Bill 09-008, which would have provided “Castle Doctrine” or “Make my day” protection to Colorado businesses. SB 08 would have protected business owners or employees from criminal or civil liability in the event that they used force to defend themselves from persons [...]

It is clear from the comments regarding my recent post on H.R. 45 that many law abiding American Citizens are deeply concerned about the implications of this draconian measure. (Category: “Legislation.”) I am going to encourage everyone who owns a firearm or loves liberty to get politically active now. If you have done a little [...]

January 23, 2009 | Leave a Comment
New York Governor Paterson earned a blast of hate speech from anti-gun Liberals by selecting Kirsten Gillibrand to replace Hillary Clinton as a Senator from New York. Ms. Gillibrand, who has the support of the NRA, would be a welcome addition to the U.S. Senate.
Thanks to Governor Paterson. It will be interesting and revealing to see how the [...]

According to a report issued by the U.S. Joint Forces Command, Mexico is in danger of a breakdown of civil authority, because of violence by “criminal gangs and drug cartels.” This possible catastrophe is only the latest in a series of developments that threaten the existence of our southern neighbor. Hearing set Wednesday on Colo. business protection bill

Caveat: I am not an attorney. I don’t even play one on TV.
The Colorado State Legislature has scheduled a hearing on a bill to increase protection for Colorado business owners in the event that they are required to defend themselves with armed force from an attack at their place of business. This bill mirrors the protection [...]

Four Obama voters at a gun show-Naivete? Paranoia?
January 14, 2009 | 1 Comment
Over the weekend, I met four more guys at a gun show. They were all pleasant enough people who voted to put Barack Hussein Obama in the White House. There were two young men, a “reluctant” Obama voter, and an unusually loquacious liberal gentleman who opined that all we were doing by warning people about [...]

On 01-07-09, the 67th Colorado General Assembly went into session. For the next 117 days, the House and Senate will meet at the Capitol in Denver to wrestle with the issues facing the state. Budget deficits, economic issues, transportation (roads and bridges), education, energy policies, and health care issues seem to dominate the [...]
