McCain yard sign stolen! I suspect the Democrats.

You can tell that the political season is upon us. Yesterday in a brazen daylight act of vandalism, somebody stole a McCain yard sign from my front yard. I suspect a person or persons belonging to the Hard Core Left Wing of the Democrat Party.
Who benefits from this crime? That is the question of the moment. It could have been a Libertarian, but they favor free speech. It might have been a Republican who wanted a sign for his own yard. No. I suspect it most probably was someone from the party of hubris and silenced dissent. When someone steals a yard sign, he or she not only commits the crime of petty theft, they commit the much more serious crime of violating my First Amendment right to free expression.
(Speaking of hubris, did you see Charlie Gibson’s interview with Sarah Palin where he asked if it wasn’t hubris for her to seek the second highest office in the land? What a pompous, supercilious oaf Gibson appeared to be, looking over his glasses and down his nose at the Governor of Alaska. Considering that she has the same amount of foreign policy experience as Barack Hussein Obama and is one Irish kitchen table chat short of the experience of Hillary Rodham Clinton, I think Palin is as well qualified as either of those Democrat luminaries. She has more executive experience than the whole Dem Ticket.
What about “Say It Ain’t So, Joe” (Biden ) who questioned the judgement of his Presidential Candidate by hinting that Obama made the wrong choice for Vice President? How does Joe walk with both feet in his mouth? Now there’s a good subject for a scientific study. The Democrats can “invest” in a long-term research project on Biden’s ambulatory skills the next time they want to pork up an appropriations bill.)
But, I digress. I suspect Left Wing Dems of stealing my yard sign, because they have historically had a very low tolerance for freedom of expression that runs contrary to their party line. The Dems are the party of the “Fairness Doctrine” that would silence conservative talk radio, one of the two forms of electronic media that they do not yet control.
The Dems are the Party of “Super Delegates.” Super Ds are officials, operatives, and insiders given delegate status at conventions to make sure that those “common, ordinary” citizens, who the Libs pretend to represent, don’t do something of which the party elite might not approve. That’s inclusive and respectful of diversity. Not!
The Dems are also the party that wants to steal the right of secret balloting from workers in union elections. Why would they want to do that? Oh, I don’t know. Could it have something to do with increasing the opportunities for voter intimidation? “Sign the card now! You might forget to sign it later. I’ll stand right here while you do it No! I’m not intimidating you. That would be against the law. You don’t feel intimidated, do you? Do you? Good! Now, just sign the card right here on this line.”
Weren’t the Dems the ones who tried to suppress the votes of U.S. Service Members stationed overseas? I seem to remember something about that in 2,000.
Don’t get me started on voter fraud in Chicago! Remember the old joke about the female Democrat who wanted to be buried near the city, so that she could remain active in party politics?
There was also some tire slashing directed at GOP get-out-the vote vehicles. The Wisconsin Democrat perps were actually convicted.
Democrats are also overwhelmingly the party that seeks to deprive the American People of their fundamental right to self-defense from crime and tyranny. Check out almost any post on this site under the Second Amendment category. You will find the Democrats in nearly constant direct opposition to individual freedom.
The Dems are definitely among the usual suspects when it comes to suppressing free speech and individual liberty. They favor diversity, so long as it stays within the parameters of their Liberal talking points.
Oh, well. I’ve got lots of signs. I think I’ll get a video camera, so I can watch the thieves at work. I don’t suppose that they have stolen their last yard sign.
Better not be too hasty. It could be squirrels or raccoons. Might be coyotes. We’ve seen a few of those around here lately. Foxes? Skunks? Might be prairie dogs. The sign stakes could be blocking their burrows.
It’s possible that it’s not a Democrat or Democrats that stole my freedom of political expression, but as Henry David Thoreau said, “Some circumstantial evidence is very strong, as when you find a trout in the milk.”

My McCain yard sign and my next door neighbor’s yard signs were not only stolen but they were slashed up and thrown on the sidewalk. Damn liberals. Don’t they realized I’m just going to go back to the Republican headquarters and buy more which helps them raise money?
I just put a Mccain sign in my yard last evening. When I woke up this morning I found it torn in half, laying in my driveway. Thought about calling the cops, but I think I’ll just go get a BIGGER one and put it on the deck so the perps have to come right up to the house next time. I’m livid! I would never take down an Obama sign, because I beleive in people’s rights. Damn Liberals, bitter, mean people!
Yea, I am getting one for my front yard and am going to line the edges with razor blades high enough to keep out of the reach of children of course..

My sign got stolen too, I’m putting a new one on the upper deck with red, white and blue christmas lights around it!
Agreed - bad idea with the razorblades - especially if any kids or animals get ahold of it.
Try putting axle grease on the rods before you drive them into the lawn. It won’t stop them from stealing your sign, but it will make a mess on their hands, their clothing, and whatever else it comes in contact with - and the beauty of it is that they probably won’t notice at first.
We have had the same problem here! We had a “NObama” sign stolen two days ago and WHILE I WAS HOME! So the next day, we put up a hand-made sign that said, “You can steal our signs, but you cannot take away the first amendment. NObama!” This time, I tied it to our front porch with fishing line to give me time to catch the culprit. But sure enough, it was gone, fish line and all, this morning when I came home after being gone only an hour. I like the idea of putting another one on the side of the house. I will do!
I want my McCain or NObama sign, as a matter of fact I need a bumper sticker! They can’t take that away! How juvenile is it to steal or destroy a sign? Right? But it fits the politics doesn’t it? Have you seen their disrupt site? They set up a website just for disrupting the Republican Convention and it was set up during the Democratic National Convention. I checked to be sure our Party didn’t sink to the same level. It was good to see that they didn’t waste energy on such silly antics.
I had my new Mc Cain-Palin yard sign stolen. Apparently this must be their campaign strategy–they don’t really have much else to go on. Sort of gives you an idea of what kind of administration we can expect from a liberal White House; just shut up the opposition. I am also furious and motivated more than ever to speak up for Mc Cain. I will not allow my free speech rights to be stolen as well.

I’m in Denver Co. In the dark of night my Mcain yard sign was stolen. So in the light of day i put a new sign up reads ” G D Obama “. Think i will leave the new sign up for “20 years”.
I live in West Bend WI, and I went out to the car Sunday morning and the first thing I noticed in my yard were the two small flags staked in the ground with nothing between them. I had just picked up my McCain/ Palin sign the day before from the local GOP office. So, it was sad to say that I was not in the best of moods while leaving my house for church, but then I notice that my neighbors signs, 5 more on my block were also stolen. Rounding the corner to leave the subdivision, there was a shining beacon of hope and change… it was a sign, but wait… It was an B. Hussein Obama sign. It is so infuriating that these liberals feel it is OK to quell my right of the freedom of speech. I also find it interesting that you do not hear of Democratic signs disappearing. The lefties are hypocrites, they will lie and cheat and do anything to get their precious presidential candidate into office. But what they do not realize is that it makes people even more true to the conservative party. There is a fight going on here, as simple or benign as it sounds, it quite simply is good vs. evil. I do not want to live in a free market capitalistic society that has turned to a government powerhouse that limits my freedoms to a socialistic regime, full of lies and deceit. God help us, and God bless the USA. This election will prove to be one of the most significant in the history of the United States. For anyone who is on the fence please study the candidates, understand what are the differences, and make an educated decision based on facts rather than the media skewing anything you see or hear.

We had our sign up for 2 whole days before it was stolen last night. I love the clever ideas that people have. Will have to come up with something to deter the thiefs. The good news is, the liberals must be getting scared…
I read this after I wrote a letter to the Editor in the N&O in Raleigh, N.C.
My McCain sign was taken twice. And last night I witnessed a tan minivan out in front of my house I ran outside knowing their motive with no shoes on….came back in to tell my husband and guess what the sign was gone.
I called the police and gave them the license plate number and I keep my fingers crossed for justice.

I am sick of this there were 5 signs in my neighborhood here in Raleigh last night as well that were stolen….

I came home from work last Saturday morning to find my McCain-Palin sign gone. When I went to the GOP HQ to get a new one, I was told that this is a Friday night event for the lefties. Guess what I’m doing tonight…..wish me happy hunting!
I had my NOBAMA sign stolen after it was up for only 10 Hours.
I am very discouraged with the tactics that are used by the Dems.
I am going to put up another and stand watch.

Everything that you hysterics are saying applies in the other direction as well. Our Obama signs are stolen as soon as they are put up, day after day. Given that 1) I am serious about my First Amendment rights and 2)the cost of the signs is a donation to the Obama campaign, I keep replacing them. Republicans don’t limit their theft to yard signs, either. Look at our national economy after almost 12 years of GOP control of the national purse strings.
One problem with that theory, all the Obama signs on my street have been not been touched. And I have a (Dem) co-worker who brags about taking down Rep signs. Looks like Obama is a good for something, recruiter little terrorists. I stick to my first comment God Dam Obama. Hope this blog stays up for 20 years.
We have been targeted here in South FL as well, my husband put up signs the first time (we live on a corner so we had one on each side of the house) one was torn off the next morning. I chalked it up to teenagers trying to jump it with thier bikes since it had bike chain marks on it and was just lying on the ground. Then about a week later when we put new signs up they came again and just pulled them out and put them on the ground no destruction. Well my husband got mad and put them back and put brake grease all over them it’s red so you can’t really see it. He went to RHQ and got 2 more signs to put up right next to those as well. A week later Saturday night and they have stolen our signs from one side of the house and I have absolute proof it was Obama supporters doing it they left thier mark on my yard, an Obama sign left in the place of my signs. I was thinking of getting one of those hunting cameras, the kind you normally put on a tree that takes a photo with a flash when it detects movement. So when they came into my yard flash your picture has been taken, I would just need to put it up high enough that they couldn’t get to it and take it too.
Add me to the list…all the McCain signs in my neighborhood were stolen this afternoon (western Philadelphia suburb). Light blue minivan full of Obama brainwashed college kids. While all the Obama signs are still proudly displayed in their yards. Sounds like a countrywide strategy for the Obama crowd. The Obama motto — Change — brought to you by vandalism and terrorism. What a joke.
i live in maryland and my signs have been stolen 3 weeks in a row - sometime in daylight when i’m home. after the 3rd time i filed a police report. i’m putting some more signs out this week but after rigging a silent silent alarm so i can identify the reponsible parties and turn them into the police. $$$ ==>> ANY CREATIVE ALARM IDEAS ARE WELCOME <<==$$$

My sign was stolen sometime between 3am and this morning. If it’s imported Obama people they obviously don’t know the law in Texas. In Texas you can shoot anyone for trespassing on your property. Tonight I will get my 3 signs to replace the one that was stolen and put them up. I have also committed to protecting my personal property. The next guy who comes onto my property will find a shotgun in their face.
Just came home from dinner - and there is was - or rather, wasn’t. My McCain-Palin sign is gone, and you just know that it was someone from the Left who probably spouts that he/she is a “fair minded individual who believes that we all have rights.” Right?
I’ll replace it tomorrow with an even larger one on my 2nd floor balcony, next to my American flag.
Heh. First Amendment apparently applies only to Republicans. My Obama sign was stolen last night, too. None of the McCain/ Palin signs in our neighborhood were touched.

3 time a McC sign was stolen in the middle of the night here in palo alto california from my house, even the one we nailed to the tree.
Our sign was just stolen out of our yard this afternoon in Fuquay Varina NC (near Raleigh). We left for about an hour in the middle of the day and when we came back it was gone. I had a replacement to put up .. so I wrote in permanent marker across the bottom “Property of (My Name) and stapled the bottom so it would tear if they tried to remove it. I had heard that people were stealing them to resell also, which was why i did this.
I do like the axle grease idea that the person above had LOL

Allll of the Obama signs in our Charlotte NC neighborhood were taken….yet the McCain signs were untouched…what do you make of that??

I can appreciate the anger of the McCain/Palin supporters whose yard signs have been stolen. In the middle of the night, my Obama/Biden sign was stolen.
It’s upsetting to me, but I don’t think, “Oh, typical Republicans. Politics as usual.” Unfortunately, there are immature individuals who are members of both parties who don’t have respect for others’ property and right to free speech.
In response to this theft, I made a new sign and I will put it up tomorrow (it, too, will probably be stolen, but I am prepared to make more). I also wrote a letter to the editor of my local newspaper reminding folks: your vote is your voice, your stealing is not. Putting up the sign of whichever candidate you support and voting for that candidate is the appropriate response, not stealing or vandalism.
Whether you support McCain/Palin or Obama/Biden, your sign deserves to remain in place.

Southeast Missouri here. I had all my signs stolen Saturday night. A total of 7. Two McCain/Palin signs and a variety of local candidates.
I may not like the opponent, but I respect their rights. I just may spray paint my house and make it one big sign! I filed a police report and tried to contact the local paper but they sent me to voicemail. I’ll be heading to the RHQ today to get more.
You know ( http://www.workingamerica.org ) The Obama people. They came to my door a while back asking for $$. Said they were a non-partisan group ha ha ha. . So glad i didn’t give. They e-mailed me offering me a job to “get the word out”. Must be nice to be tied into all those Fredie mac $$s.

Wow. I guess it is only fair that I read some crazy rant from the far right. After all, I have a great time writing my own political rants.
First, “You will find the Democrats in nearly constant direct opposition to individual freedom.” This statement made me laugh so hard, I almost threw up the book I was trying to hide from Palin. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know she didn’t ACTUALLY ban books, but she was curious about the process. To me, that shows where her mind and beliefs are. Second, your statement is crazy! The only personal freedoms the Republican party wants to protect revolve around money and guns. Any other personal freedoms are frowned upon. Excuse me, but isn’t the Republican party supposed to want LESS government? Well, then get out of people’s bedrooms, doctor’s offices, and science labs.
Oh, by the way, my friend’s Obama sign was stolen last night. Where do you live? Maybe it was YOU.

My anti-war sign and No on 8 signs were stolen today here in Palo Alto. The person(s) were so angry they stomped on of the metal frames and took another.
Last week some a**wipe stole the Obama signs in the middle of the night from my front yard here in rural eastern NC, so it ain’t just one side. I’m more inclined to believe what you McCainers are experiencing is random retribution for what’s been done to us. I think I’ll replace my Obama-Biden sign this weekend and add an “Armed Liberal” sign next to it.
In my neighborhood, Obama signs are being stolen while McCain signs remain untouched. One neighbor took his Obama sign indoors at night, while leaving the wire frame that supported it in the ground, and even THAT was stolen.
Signs for both sides are being stolen, and it sucks. But don’t make the mistake of assuming it is one-sided.

4 McCain signs gone now. The last set lasted less than 4 hours. I live on a country dirt road. The good thing is I know the pattern now, and I have nice pines to hide in by the signs with my camera.

I caught three 12 year old girls stealing one of the McCain signs that were in my yard. My Mom has had both of her signs stolen out of hers. Covington, GA.
I live in Tampa, Florida. My McCain sign was stolen the day after I first put it up. My son later found it in a ditch near my home so I replaced it, gluing it to the metal rack, and it was stolen again. This time, it was replaced by an Obama sign. I had to get a new McCain sign. I put a “No Trespassing” sign next to it and made another sign that reads “DO NOT INTERFERE WITH MY FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS OR I MAY HAVE TO EXERCISE MY SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHT.” I also added at the end, “If you don’t agree with me go put up your own sign in your own yard!” The Obama sign we were gifted is serving as a door mat.

My McCain sign was stolen in broad daylight today-only was up for 48 hrs before it vanished. Right across the street there are 2 Obama signs that have stayed put for several MONTHS now. I paid for mine as well so I am pretty bummed. I was suprised how angry I was because it really means a lot to me. I value my freedom and my freedom of speech. With the sign being stolen off of my property, my freedom of speech was attacked. I will get another one, or maybe just make a huge one and hang it high enough on a tree that it would be hard to get to. You can disagree with my political view, but if you stoop to the level of stealing my sign, then I sure hope you don’t cast your vote. All of this makes me want to stand up and shout even louder what I believe. Come on America…NOBAMA!!!!!
I am literaly sitting on my couch. Camera around my neck. I have fishing line tied to my sign and in my house on my fishing rod. I’m fishin! Hope to catch them and get a photo and send to the Orlando Sentinel! Hee hee! Not getting this one.
Another tip I learned at headquarters today. A man did this. On the bottom of the cardboard portion of the sign, poke 2 holes the size of a plastic twist ties. Strap them down. This way they can’t pull the top part off the medal. Then connect a medal little like dog chain to the medal part and lock that to a lamp post etc. Give the thieves some trouble. How sad is it in this country it has come to this.
I am a liberal from Arizona. I had my Obama sign stolen out of my yard. Yesterday I put up a new one. Last night someone knifed my sign and threw it in my bushes. This is frightening to me. I think that any people that are doing this on either side are wrong!! Freedom of speech is a fundemental right in this country that liberals and conservatives believe in!!! So I think resonable people can disagree about important issues, But lets not paint all liberals or conservatives with the same brush. These awful acts are being done on both sides by people who are fanatics
We just our McCain/Palin sign stolen last night. Come to find that our entire Riverside IL community was full of thefts on behalf of Obama as zero reports for stolen Obama signs and at least 20 or so stolen McCain.
So while Obama’s camp is trying to leverage the heck out of skinhead extremist which by no means represent my views and are likely common threats to both sides, Obama supporters are stealing my right to free speach!
