Thanks for the comments. I like both “Pro Rights” and “Right to Self-Defense” as possible short titles or catch phrases to describe the struggle to maintain our rights to self-defense against crime and tyranny. “Pro Armed Self-Defense” might be another possibility.

I do have a problem with gun registration, because in England, Australia, New York, and California, to name a few jurisdictions, registration has been a prelude to confiscation. In New York, gun owners were promised that registration would not lead to the loss of their guns. When confronted with that fact, one politician who was leading the confiscation movement responded, “I never promised anyone that.”

In Calfornia, if I remember correctly, SKS owners were not originally covered by the “assault weapons ban.” Then, after the “grandfather” registration period had expired, the state decided that SKS rifles were “assault weapons” and had to be registered. Then, the state decided that SKS rifles were illegal, because they had not been registered by the original expiration date. I’m not sure how that eventually played out. Comments welcome.

In any case, convicted felons or other “prohibited persons” can not be prosecuted for failing to register a gun, because to do so would be self incrimination. “Prohibited persons” are, by definition, ineligible to own a firearm. I’ll get the citation on that case law.

If you think you have problems in the States, just cast your eyes north to Toronto. Things are so bad there that Canadian sports groups are calling for a BOYCOTT OF THE CITY OF TORONTO. Mayor David Miller is running amok and a boycott seems to be a way to get his attention. We urge American sportsmen to join the boycott.
