Using the “metaphor” that we are engaged in a “war” with the hard left over our natural right to self-defense against crime and tyranny, I am going to profile from time to time the organizations involved in this fight. This almost certainly has been done better elsewhere, but I am going to take literary license and add my idiosyncratic two cents to the discussion.

Order of battle is one of the most boring, yet most important functions of military intelligence. If you know nothing about the “enemy’s” table of organization and equipment, you are certainly going to be surprised when you meet him or her on the “battlefield.”

Ordinarily, the good guys don’t publish their own order of battle outside their own organization, because the less the “enemy” knows about you, the better. But in our “war,” many people on our side aren’t familiar with our friends and allies.

Also, in our “war,” the “enemy” has created a few “Trojan Horse” organizations that claim to represent “mainstream” gun owners. These “false flag” groups hew to the hard left party line. For those of you who belong to Gun Owners of America, this last statement does not refer to the National Rifle Association. GOA has a definite place at our table, although I obviously don’t concur with all of their ideas or tactics.

Although I don’t agree with every position taken by the NRA, they are the oldest, largest, most generally respected pro-gun rights organization in the world. Their affliate organizations, such as the Firearms Coalition of Colorado, and the Colorado State Shooting Association represent powerful lines of defense against left wing, anti-gun rights legislation. The Firearms Coalition has the only full-time lobbyist on gun issues at the State Capitol during the legislative session.

The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is an important gun rights organization. They sponsor an annual conference that calls together many of the best minds in the community of people who legally own firearms.

Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership is another ally in the fight for freedom. Their excellent comic book series, “Grampa Jack,” is a useful tool for both adults and young people in understanding the debate over our right to self-defense against crime and tyranny.

Among organizations on the other side, we will discuss the Brady Campaign, the Violence Policy Center, Move On, etc. I again encourage you to read The Shadow Party by Horowitz and Poe to find out about the oligarch-funded hard left network that threatens the survival of the free market American republic.

Possibly over-used, but appropriate to our allies in the “war” regardless of race, religion, or political stripe, an excerpt from the St. Crispin’s Day speech in Shakespeare’s Henry V. “We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; for he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile. This day shall gentle his condition; and gentlemen in England now-a-bed shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here, and hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks that fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s Day.” Today, we include in our order of battle our female compatriots, such as the Second Amendment Sisters.

Benjamin Franklin also clearly defined our issue, when he said of the Declaration of Independence, “We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.”
