Second Amendment Meeting at Colorado Capitol

On 04-18-08, a Republican Caucus hearing was held at the state capitol regarding D.C. versus Heller, the D.C. gun ban case. The consensus reached by the panel of experts was that the decision will be narrowly defined. It could be a 5-4 decision in favor of an individual rights interpretation. Dave Kopel of the Independence Institute indicated that the old “community rights” canard is pretty well dead, and that most arguments were based on the scope of the individual right.
